23rd Street and Washington Blvd was a very productive site. Many, many bottles were recovered over a nine month period. This site was used a trash dump during the early 1900's, and it's most recent tenant was a wire factory. Once the wire factory was demolished permission was arranged for our club and the digging began.
Actually this is how I was re-introduced to the hobby of digging and collecting bottles. I was looking for a site to hunt with my metal dectector, when I spotted two club members digging in a vacant field. After a short introduction I headed over to Sears and Roebucks, bought a shovel and some gloves and got my hands dirty. I haven't been the same since.....
I would like to thank Ken and Dar for inviting me to join the club and sharing their experience and knowledge of the dig site.
Let's see what we found.........
